This was a good read. The stories are fairly interesting and most of them are unusual to a Western reader. They are a bit simple, which means they'd be really good for an audience of children, although they are also fine for adults (which isn't always true).Two of the tales towards the end had very stereotypical black/white racial portrayals. It's a sign of the time this was written (1917), and it was treated in such a way that I don't think it's particularly offensive unless you're already sensitive to the issues (which also isn't always true; this book is very singular), but it's something people might like to know before reading.
There's a chart-style active table of contents, but no illustrations. The only scanning error is that the very first letter of every story was dropped (I assume they were in a fancier font that the scanner couldn't understand).

I love reading fairytails from around the world. No one has the Top Star as all are the same...Telling Stories about life and lessons to learn from/by. I just loved this book!

The free version I downloaded is unsatisfactory. I didn't read all the way through it. The problem is that it appears to include only the first page of each story. The stories might be good or not - who can tell?
Some stories are interesting, but not well organized or edited. I am glad it was free. What more is there to say?
I thoroughly enjoyed the little book of Brazilian folk lore. The stories themselves are delightful . None of these stories are dark like you may find in other collections. Anyone who enjoys fairy tales from other cultures will enjoy this collection.
